Its cultural similarities, geographic location, time zone and human resources make Costa Rica one of the preferred destinations for outsourcing, as reported Business Week magazine and consulting firm Gartner.
Six of the top 30 outsourcing destinations are in Latin America and Costa Rica is one of them. This Central American country offers “a high comfort level with Western business practices” said to Business Week, French Karamouzis, vice-president of research at Gartner.
The article highlights the case of businessman Brian Stafford, president and CEO of ChemSW, who was very satisfied after having hired a team of five programmers in the Costa Rican company Isthmus.
Their highly trained human resources, proximity to United States, little time difference and the advantage of being a safe and pleasant country make Costa Rica an ideal destination for companies looking for outsourcing services as offered by IT companies in Costa Rica (CLICK HERE to search for outsourcing services in Costa Rica).
A high innovative capacity put Costa Rica in 35th place in the world ranking 2004-2008 of the journal The Economist, which included 82 nations. Costa Rica totaled 2.429 patents and obtained an innovation index of 6.25, as concluded the research sponsored by Cisco Systems.
Costa Rica is also the third most important country in technological development of Latin America, as concluded the Global Information Technology Report 2008-2009 conducted by the World Economic Forum and sponsored by Cisco Systems.
Costa Rica held this position thanks to the deployment of information and communication technologies.
