The online IT directory CostaRicaisIT.net, which operates as a marketplace for technology companies in Costa Rica, already includes over 200 information and communication technologies (ICT) companies registered and over 70 business opportunities sent by potential clients, business partners and investors from around the world, as well as visitors from 91 different countries.

The Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (CAMTIC) and its project Link Exportación launched CostaRicaisIT.net (which means Costa Rica is Information Technology) on July 24, 2008 as the first online directory of Costa Rican companies of information and communication technologies (ICT).The website allows users to know the offering of products, services and technology companies available in Costa Rica, see their profiles, news and events, as well as send business opportunities or trade leads.

This is specially useful for those individuals, companies and institution in need of technological solutions such as IT outsourcing, custom taylor made software, software as a services (SaaS) and others, because CostaRicaisIT.net joins all the available IT offer in one website.

In addition, during the Costa Rica Services Summit 2009 and the business meetings round Costa Rica - Argentina held last June, CostaRicaisIT.net became the center of business appointments and agendas for over 200 companies who used this new business meeting system to register online, enter profiles, search for companies and schedule business appointments.

Online marketing for IT companies

This 2009, the Link Exportación project implemented an online marketing strategy with the intention of disseminating quality and diversity of the offering of exportable IT products and services available in CostaRicaisIT.net.

For this reason, last July launched CostaRicaisIT.net page in Facebook, which keeps the users and the general public informed about the news, products and services in the ICT sector.

Companies and professionals who wish to stay informed of ICT news of Costa Rica can join Facebook.com and become a fan of the CostaRicaisIT.net page  (http://www.facebook.com/pages/CostaRicaisITnet/91803909454) or go directly to the news section of CostaRicaisIT.net.

"Social networks allow potential clients who seek IT solutions, including companies, institutions or individuals, meet the offering of exportable technology available in CostaRicaisIT.net and keep them informed about its quality and variety through articles and news published in this fully bilingual website", said Roberto Acosta, director of the Link Exportación Project.

The Costa Rican technology companies can register at this marketplace in www.costaricaisit.net. The subscription to this online IT directory remained free for a year from July 2008 to July 2009. Starting next August 1, 2009 ICT companies must pay an annual fee of US$100.

The general public, businesses and institutions from other sectors can also join CostaRicaisIT.net for free becoming potential customers, business partners or investors.
