IT Ecosystem
Costarica´s T industry has a prominent organization, inter-institutional coordination and participation of several actors who work close in a ecosystem to promote the industry and its exports such as:
- Organizations that promote exports and investment such as the Costa Rican External Commerce Promoter (PROCOMER), The Chamber of Information and Communication Technologes (CAMTIC) and The Costarican Promotion Investment Agency (CINDE) who work hand to hand to promote IT companies. Particularly CINDE focuses on attracting investors interested in the local human resource.
- Education of a high quality of competitive human resource that develope important IT skills.
- Link between private companies and educational institutions such as: CENFOTEC, INA, Omar Dengo Foundation (FOD).
- Development of the internal market like:
a. Digital government
b. Government purchases
c. Traditional and alternative financing (venture capital and angel capital)
d. Incubators of IT companies
e. Training and specialization of the industry
- Government institutions: Science and Technology Ministry (MICIT), National Council for Scientific Investigations (CONICIT), Digital Government, Digital Signature Commission.
- Multinational companies such as Intel, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, among others.
- IT Promoters: High Technology Consulting Commission (CAATEC), National Center for High Technology (CeNAT), INCAE Business School.
- IT private incubator such as Parque-Tec.
